Long Island Dressage and Combined Training Association, Inc. | Promote Your Page Too
 

   The Long Island Dressage and Combined Training Association was founded December 26, 1974.  The purposes for which it was formed are to raise the standards of horsemanship in the area which it derives its members, by developing educational programs consisting of clinics, seminars and other educational activities and by promoting Dressage competitions and Combined Training events.  

    We built this site to promote our wonderful organization and further the education and communication of our fellow Long Island Dressage and Combined Training enthusiasts.

    2009-11 VP Alice Petersen notes :"None of the top dressage riders made it to where they are today with out the help of the dressage community. We need to come together as a community on Long Island and help promote good riding, teaching and learning, nice, well run dressage shows, and opportunities for young riders to become interested and excel in the sport. I would also love to see all disciplines work together for the greater good of the horses, the riders and the Long Island horse world.” I would add that the same could be said for event (combined training) riders and shows.

   We all start at the beginning and need help and guidance along the way. Some LIDCTA members reached the top levels of their sport.  Many more work hard at the lower levels. We are here to help. LIDCTA encourages all riders to embrace the journey and we reward your efforts "with a variety of awards at all levels of accomplishment", as Treasurer  for 2010 Doug Shaw notes. 

      As this site is always growing, we plan to add to it as often as we can. There will be links to other dressage and combined training websites, publications, articles, suppliers, and just plain fun and interesting sites. Some you will know, others we hope you will go to and check out. It is a work in process so please feel free to email me with comments and suggestions at ctabacco@gmail.com.

       In order to keep LIDCTA successful, we need the help of all our members. "Ask not what LIDCTA can do for you but what you can do for LIDCTA."
