GENERAL RULES FOR LIDCTA YEAR END AWARDS 1. Rider of the horse must be a current LIDCTA member PRIOR to the first class of the first show for which scores are to count. If a horse is owned by a business that business must have a Business Membership with LIDCTA. 2. In order for scores to count for year-end awards and rider certificates, scores must have been earned at least two USEF/USDF recognized shows also recognized by LIDCTA excluding Introductory Level and Combined Training. 3. Horse/Rider combination must be the same for all tests submitted for each award. 4. Scores earned from November 30 of one year to December 1 of the following year will be counted. 5. Classes with more than one judge will count on the basis of an average of the scores given by all the judges for that class. 6. All Adult Amateurs who are submitting scores for Adult Amateur championship must also submit a copy of their USEF Adult Amateur card for the current year. If a person’s AA status changes during the year they must notify LIDCTA in writing. 7. Anyone submitting scores from away shows are allowed two scores from off Long Island and two from shows on Long Island. This includes FEI riders. 8. When submitting applications for year-end awards only those scores from off Long Island shows need be submitted along with photocopies of the first page of the test with Judge’s name and signature, Name of Competition, Date of Competition and Rider/Horse name. All other scores will be obtained by the Awards committee Please send all applications to the LIDCTA Awards Committee, P.O. Box 390, Riverhead, N.Y. 11901. Certified/Return receipt suggested. 9. All conflicts will be settled by a vote of the Awards Committee, under the direction of the Executive Board. The Committee reserves the right to revise these requirements as warranted or in the event of changes to the projected show schedule. In addition, the Committee reserves the right to examine original tests if questions of eligibility arise. LIDCTA SPECIAL YEAR END AWARDS Depending on the discipline, Dressage/Combined Training, these awards must be submitted according to their rules shown below. · Highest Score of the Year: Highest Average Score, of one Senior AA, Open and one Junior member, from all levels of all entries submitted. · Beginner Rider Award: Highest Average Score of one Senior AA and one Junior member. A “Beginner Rider” will be defined as a rider who has ridden in only “Beginner” classes or opportunity classes. Can only be won once. · Silver Bit Award: Sponsored by Kathy Grisolia. Given to a member between the ages of 50 and 60 with the single highest score in either Dressage or Combined Training. · Silver Stirrup Award: Given to a member aged 60 or above with the single highest score in either Dressage or Combined Training. · Trainer Award: Given to the trainer who’s student has competed in at least two classes in six different shows (USEF/USDF recognized or schooling) scoring a combined average of 58% or above at the same level. · Volunteer of the Year Award; Given to a member who has done an outstanding job in supporting the club. ·
· High Score for Dressage Show series Award: One award to be given for EACH show series: Stanhope and Islip Horseman’s Association. Riders must have the highest score from the highest test ridden at the same level from every show in the series held by these organizations, at either AA, Open or Junior. Two scores must be from the highest test of that level. Tie breaker will be the highest individual score from the highest test ridden · Grand Tour Award: Given to the Horse/Rider combination with the highest average score who has successfully competed in all dressage shows on Long Island during the year. The competitor must submit their highest score from each show. REQUIREMENTS FOR DRESSAGE AWARDS A Champion and Reserve Champion ribbon and award ,as well as ribbons to 6th place will be given at each level to the Horse and rider combination having the highest overall average of scores received at LIDCTA recognized shows. 1) Only one Horse and Rider combination will count. Different rider or horse will be considered as different combinations. 2) The Horse and Rider combination can only win a Championship once in designated category at that level or lower. 3) Junior and Young rider tests are eligible in accordance with USDF rules. FEI Pony tests are equivalent to Second Level Test 3. 4) Musical Freestyle tests are only eligible for that category. LEVELS/CATEGORIES · USDF Introductory Level, First through Grand Prix, Musical Freestyles( USDF 1st – 4th/Intermediare I & G.P.), Quadrille & Paux de Duex/Prix Caprilli · Open ,Adult Amateur (AA), Junior/Young Rider (Jr/YR) to six places in each category, except musical awards- if less than 3 entries in any category they will be combined. · Horse/Rider combinations may apply in more than one level, but must be in the same category (O, AA, JR/YR). AA qualifications use USEF rules. SCORES THAT ARE ELIGIBLE · Introductory through Fourth Level & Combined Training: 1) Four of the highest scores from three different shows and judges. 2) Two of the scores must be 55% or better. 3) Two scores must be from the highest test of the level ridden. 4) The AVERAGE score of the four tests will be the rider’s year-end score. If there is a median score tie, it will be broken by using the higher total of all scores. 5) Introductory/Beginner Level JR/YR 58% Training/First Level Open 58% JR/YR 56% Second/Third Level Open 58% JR/YR 56% Fourth and Above Open 60% JR/YR 58% Freestyles/Quadrille/Paux de Deux/Prix Caprilli: 1) Three scores from three different shows under three different judges. 2) All Levels Open/JR/AA 56% DRESSAGE RIDER CERTIFICATES Rider Certificates will be awarded to all riders achieving 3 scores of 60% at ONE LEVEL at any LIDCTA recognized Dressage show. · Three scores must be from three different judges. · Riders may ride any combination of horses. · Riders may not win certificates at any level more than once. REQUIREMENTS FOR COMBINED TRAINING AWARDS A Championship and Reserve Championship ribbon and award, as well as ribbons to 6th place will be awarded to the horse/rider combination with the best average score at any LIDCTA recognized Combined Training Events. Beginner: Any combination of horse and rider Pre-Novice, Novice and Training Levels: Horse/Rider combination in any category (Junior, AA, Open) All divisions in recognized and unrecognized (schooling) events will count toward year-end awards. If applicants warrant, divisions will be split for Junior/Adult Amateur To Qualify: 1) Rider must be current Junior or Regular member 2) Horse/Rider must compete in 3 LIDCTA recognized events. Scores from USEF recognized events will count as double. TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS · SUBMIT ONE FORM FOR EACH Horse/Rider at each level · Attach a copy of current LIDCTA membership card. Adult Amateurs must submit copy of their USEF AA card. · If submitting scores from shows off Long Island – attach a USDF printout with scores highlighted OR a copy of each score sheet cover. Score sheet must include Rider/Horse name, Name and Date of Competition and Judge’s name and signature.
